Solace

Solace is an AI wellness companion built out of UC Berkeley. I was the founding engineer on a team of five, and the only high-school hire.

I built the mobile app in React Native and the site, did backend work, and spent most of my time cutting latency out of the real-time voice chat — which is the whole difference between something that feels present and something that feels like a form. I helped a little with the social side too.

It is backed by Free Ventures at Berkeley, with an ElevenLabs grant covering 33 million credits.
